Practicing with a Weighted Club

I believe a weighted practice club is a must for every golf bag. If you are like most golfers, you tend to get to the golf course with little time to spare before your tee time. We should arrive with ample time to hit a bucket of balls and loosen up, as well as hit some putts and chips. However, if you at least carry a weighted club in your bag, and I do mean heavy, you can swing it slowly a number of times in the parking lot or on the first tee. Remember, it is imperative to swing slowly, as you are just trying to stretch your golfing muscles in your back and shoulders. With each backswing hold your position for a few seconds, then let the weight of the club and gravity do the work on the downswing. The heaviness of the club head should take you to your follow through position. Again, hold your finish position for a few seconds. Repeat this as many times as you can before you tee off. This will loosen you up and keep you from getting any injuries when you swing.
